New Teacher Spotlight: Dr. Thuy Pham
Dr. Thuy Pham is new to OHS this year, and teaches Multivariable Calculus. To find out more about a new addition to our wonderful group of teachers, Aditi Patil spoke to Dr. Pham.
Pixel Journal: Have you taught before coming to OHS? If so, what course(s), and where?
Dr. Pham: I taught various math courses such as calculus, coding theory and cryptography, group and symmetry at the university of Toronto. Currently I am teaching IB Further Math, IB Higher Level Math for a private school and Multivariable Calculus at OHS.
PJ: How has your transition to an online high school been?
TP: It has been a smooth process. We get used to the online system pretty quickly and OHS is helpful in providing all the support we need.
PJ: What is the toughest aspect about OHS?
TP: The toughest part for me is to maintain teacher-student interaction in the class since it is not a face-to-face classroom. This was the biggest difference between how I taught my previous classes vs at the OHS community.
PJ: What is your favorite part of OHS?
TP: Students are talented and very motivated. Also, I have a chance to work with students from different parts of United States and some other countries as well.
