20 Questions with Ally Worthington

Pixel Journal: What’s the first thing you do every morning?

Ally Worthington: I put in my contacts, because I absolutely hate wearing my glasses.

 

PJ: What’s one thing on your bucket list?

AW: To visit every continent: 4 down, 3 to go!

 

PJ: Coke or Pepsi?

AW: Coke

 

PJ: What did you want to be when you were a kid?

AW: I used to want to be a pilot, but that dream ended when I realized I wouldn’t be able to get my pilot’s license ☺ (see question 9)

 

PJ: What could you eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?

AW: PASTA!

 

PJ: If you could have coffee with any person, living or dead, who would it be?

AW: Barack Obama

 

PJ: Beyoncé or Rihanna?

AW: Rihanna!

 

PJ: Kittens or Puppies?

AW: Puppies

 

PJ: What’s one thing no one knows about you?

AW: I am blind in my right eye

 

PJ: What’s one book you would recommend?

AW: “Surely You’re Joking Mr. Feynman,” by Richard Feynman

 

PJ: What’s the best song on your playlist right now?

AW: “It’s a Vibe,” by 2Chainz

 

PJ: Do you have a favorite movie?

AW: The Shining

 

PJ: Who’s your favorite OHS teacher?

AW: Four way tie between Dr. Beals, Dr. Oas, Dr. McKale, and Dr. Zarlengo!

 

PJ: What’s your favorite emoji?

AW: Definitely the flat eye emoji 😑

 

PJ: What’s your biggest dream?

AW: My biggest dream, as of now, would be to solve some problem in the field of physics, specifically particle physics.  This is why I am so excited to conduct research during my undergrad studies, and beyond.

 

PJ: If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?

AW: I would want to make quality education accessible to people around the world, especially to those of low socioeconomic standing.  Education is the ultimate equalizer, in my opinion.

 

PJ: What’s your favorite OHS class?

AW: Constitutional Law, taught by Dr. Zarlengo, or Light & Heat, taught by Dr. Niazi

 

PJ: Graduation Weekend or Summer @ Stanford?

AW: Graduation weekend, although I have never been to Summer @ Stanford due to my competitive horseback riding schedule.

 

PJ: What do you want to do after high school?

AW: I am VERY excited to go to college, research during those 4 years, and hopefully hold internships during summers.  Beyond that, I am eager to join the workforce as soon as possible in whatever field that may be in.

 

PJ: What’s one piece of advice for OHSers?

AW: This is hypocritical, but GO TO SUMMER @ STANFORD.  It’s a great way to establish a friend group, which serves as great support throughout the school year, both academically and emotionally.
