Pixel Journal: What’s the first thing you do every morning?
Rebecca Kenney: Check my phone, which is probably not a good thing, whoops.
PJ: What’s one thing on your bucket list?
RK: Go to Salar de Uyuni (in Bolivia) at night, after it rains.
PJ: Coke or Pepsi?
RK: Water
PJ: What did you want to be when you were a kid?
RK: Something between a veterinarian and a fashion designer, I had pretty high hopes for my career paths.
PJ: What could you eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?
RK:Crepes. Hands down it’s crepes.
PJ: If you could have coffee with any person, living or dead, who would it be?
RK: Can I choose a dinosaur? Maybe Hemingway or Gandhi.
PJ: Beyoncé or Rihanna?
RK: Rihanna, but its super close. It’s a tie.
PJ: Kittens or Puppies?
RK: Puppies for sure.
PJ: What’s one thing no one knows about you?
RK: Where’s the mystery in that…haha
PJ: What’s one book you would recommend?
RK: Hmm, probably Animal Farm because it’s so thought provoking and also short enough to fit an OHSer’s schedule.
PJ: What’s the best song on your playlist right now?
RK: "On + Off" by Maggie Rogers or "Location" by Khalid
PJ: Do you have a favorite movie?
RK: Whiplash or Good Will Hunting
PJ: Who’s your favorite OHS teacher?
RK: All of them, that’s like choosing a favorite child!
PJ: What’s your favorite emoji?
RK: The rowboat, its pretty versatile.
PJ: What’s your biggest dream?
RK: I would love to work with a business or charity that allowed me to travel and help people while learning a new language.
PJ: If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
RK: Access to education for everyone.
PJ: What’s your favorite OHS class?
RK: Intro to physics back in 7th grade, but I’m loving APLit right now.
PJ: Graduation Weekend or Summer @ Stanford?
RK: Hmm I loved both, maybe S@S because it’s longer. (Shameless S@S/grad plug — everyone go!)
PJ: What do you want to do after high school?
RK: College, but first maybe take a gap year to travel and volunteer.
PJ: Finally, what’s one piece of advice for OHSers?
RK: Don't stress! No seriously, always make time to focus on your wellbeing, take frequent short breaks, and be spontaneous. Burnout is real guys.
