Halloween Plans
As the spooky season approaches, students are gearing up for Halloween with a mix of parties, trick-or-treating, and festive traditions. From cozy get-togethers to neighborhood strolls, everyone has their own way of celebrating.
Many students are planning small gatherings.
I’m planning a small party with my close group of friends. We’ll probably just hang out and watch movies. I’m also going to see Sabrina Carpenter in concert, which is exciting! Other OHS students shared their plans for the autumn holiday: on Halloween Day, “I’ll visit my best friend’s house, where we’ll watch scary movies, eat lots of candy, and just have fun,” said sophomore Inaya Dar.
For those with younger siblings, trick-or-treating remains a big part of their Halloween plans.
"My younger sister might go trick-or-treating, so I'll either join her or walk around my neighborhood," said eighth grader Aadish Verna. Freshman Hana Aboian added, "I’ll probably go trick-or-treating with my brother and my neighbor. I think I’ll be Barbie this year. I don’t usually host events, but my brother has suggested we do.”
While some students look forward to hanging out with friends on Halloween, others have creative projects in the works.
Senior Connor Yeh said he and his family “…decorate our house almost every year and occasionally host parties. I’m looking forward to hanging out with friends,” Similarly, sophomore Dawn Zhu shared, “There’s a writing contest that ends on Halloween every year, so I’m hoping to finish a flash fiction piece for that.”
As excitement builds, it’s clear that Halloween includes a variety of traditions and activities for students at OHS and beyond, whether students trick-or-treat or cozy up for a night of scary movies.
