Letter from the Editor
Dear Reader,
The end of this particular school year holds a meaning far greater than I could have imagined. While there are still many things I am uncertain of, I can confidently say that I have realized the growth I have experienced as not only a student, but an individual.
Joining an online high school as an eighth grader was a daunting notion, yet no one could have predicted how it has shaped who I have become today. All the memories created with my friends, instructors, peer tutors, and counselors are ones I will cherish for the unforeseeable future. From trying to find a common meeting time between club members who live in different continents to only being able to meet in-person a few times a year, we have been able to come together as a united community despite the numerous obstacles that faced us. This remarkable achievement is what makes me believe that even after we each move on to the next steps in our lives, our experiences here will always remain the highlight of our journeys.
As each school year concludes, regardless of where you are in your academic and life path, the fear of the unknown always makes its appearance once again. Throughout these years, I have learned that instead of shying away from this fear, I should embrace it. Rather than force myself onto paths that are expected of me, I know that it is only by following my heart that I will be able to find my true passion. To attempt to reduce your goals and aspirations into a timeline is an extremely difficult task, and one that rarely provides any benefit beyond the mere moments of temporary satisfaction. I hope that you, too, will take this fear and welcome it as an opportunity for self-reflection and growth.
With that, I am extremely excited to announce that the Pixel Journal’s next editor-in-chief will be Arielle Clyne (‘25)! To the editorial board and the rest of the PJ staff, I want to thank you for your continued efforts in providing OHSers with a platform to share their thoughts and opinions. I hope that this sentiment of capturing student culture and sharing it with those around us remains in our legacy for years to come. As I leave the Pixel Journal, I am beyond proud of what we have achieved and will always cherish the memories and friendships made.
Yours,
April
